Link 19 Nov 133 notes Dear Coke Talk: On understanding suicide.»

Three years ago my brother tried to commit suicide. He was fifteen then, which is how old I am now. A month ago he tried to kill himself again. He came home from the hospital a week ago, and I’m ecstatic to have him back again, but I’m also extremely angry at him. He didn’t see my mom just about…

Coketalk is so right on so many things and this is one thing that I find I wish more people would read and take into account. Suicide is not about the people that are left behind or almost left behind. This kid is lucky that he still has his brother, because some of us are not so lucky.

Saturday is National Survivors of Suicide day. The AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) does this annual thing were they have a conference that they broadcast around the country with speakers that are involved with the foundation and/or are survivors of a loss from suicide. They’re having one of these conferences in a nearby town…I have until tomorrow to decide whether or not I’ll go. I just don’t know what to expect.

I have been pretty down about him lately and I probably could really use an overly emotional day since I have been holding it in for a while now.

MISS YOU BABE!
